You loaded the dishwasher as usual, added detergent, pressed the power button, but the wash cycle did not start. The dishwasher does not work. What’s happened? In case of a breakdown, almost all modern dishwashers squeak and signal a malfunction with an error code, displaying it on the screen or blinking with a certain set of indicators (in models without a display). If you notice an error code when you turn it on, look up to the instruction manual for an explanation. This will help you to track what kind of problem has occurred. Make sure your dishwasher is properly plugged into an electrical outlet. Avoid using extension cords to power your dishwasher, as most can’t safely accommodate the voltage required. Double-check that the power switch to your dishwasher is turned on, checking beneath the sink if necessary. Confirm that the dishwasher’s circuit breaker is in the proper position. If the control panel has lights on, but does not respond, find a button on the panel with a lock pictogram. Press and hold for 3 sec to unlock. Some models use the Heat Dry pad as a lock and some models have a Control Lock. If the lock symbol is adjacent to the Heat Dry pad, then your dishwasher lock feature is activated utilizing the Heat Dry pad. The pads will not respond while lock is enabled. To disable this lock, hold the heat dry pad for three seconds and you will hear a beep and the light will go off. If the dishwasher stops turning on and the display is off and the power button sinks or it is hard to press, the power button or control sensor are defective. These parts are often out of order due to improper maintenance and careless handling. Reconsider the attitude to your appliances and run diagnostics regularly.
