You can’t close the door of your oven? Don’t panic, it is a common problem. You can easily fix it by yourself. All you need just to follow our step-by-step guide which helps you to replace hinges in the Oven Electrolux eot4805k.
First of all, you must know the problem. It’s a door hinge. An oven door repair may be needed if the door hinge breaks or is bent out of shape. Oven doors have two door hinges, a left and right. Let’s start replacement!
- Turn off electricity. Wear working gloves.
- Open the door lift catch and slowly close the door - as the hinge locks the door will lift the hinges from the cabinet. Pull the little catch up, located on top of both hinges either side of the door. This will lock the levers and you can gently lift the door free.
- Remove the screws from the door, and you'll have access to the hinges. Remove the old hinges, and re-position the new hinges to where the old ones used to be. Next, you need to lower the other half of the oven door that you have removed back into its place. All that is left to do now is screw it back together again - and you now have a fully formed door, complete with new working hinges!
- Get the door back on the front of your oven. You need to cock back the hinges into their latch. You will notice that there is a little notch on the hinge, and this needs to rest on the oven frame - so that you can be sure that the door is positioned correctly. Put the door in its correct position, it needs to be opened completely, so that you can reset the latches to their original position. Now you can close your oven door.
