Kenmore refrigerators refer to the finest household appliances as to their high efficiency and durable service life. In fact, nothing can last forever, so there will come the time when your unit needs troubleshooting. If your Kenmore Refrigerator 106.58506801 has problems with cooling, it is time to run a diagnostic. Often, owners open the doors too often, changing the proper temperature inside the fridge. When the door is opened, warm humid air is allowed into the refrigerator. The more the door is opened, the faster the humidity builds up, and the more warm air the refrigerator must cool. In order to keep the refrigerator cool, try to get everything you need out of the refrigerator at once, keep food organized so it is easy to find and close the door as soon as the food is removed. Wait 24 hours for temperatures to stabilize or even out. If the temperature is still too warm, move the dial one number at a time. Make sure you haven’t overloaded the refrigerator and the doors close well. Ensure the plug is tightly pushed into the electrical outlet. Check/replace fuse with a 15 amp time-delay fuse. Reset the circuit breaker. Refrigerator may be in the defrost cycle. Wait 20 minutes and check again. When these steps don’t eliminate the issue and the unit refuses to cool, some parts are defective and need replacing. It is supposed that a failed compressor could lead to no cold air output. As a rule, the compressor won't run if the start relay fails. The relay sends current to the motor start windings to boost motor torque to start the motor, and to the motor run windings. Once the motor starts, the relay continues to send current to the run windings, but cuts off current to the start windings. A defective start relay won't send current to the start windings, run windings or both. The start relay includes an overload component that shuts off all current to the motor if the motor overheats. A defective overload trips when the motor isn't overheated, preventing the motor from starting. With a little know-how, it will be hard to troubleshoot and replace the malfunctioning start relay, call a technician to come in and do it for you.
