If the washing machine stops draining water, this can be a signal of a wide variety of problems - from simple to quite complex ones that require the involvement of specialists. You can analyze the reasons why the washing machine does not drain water and prevent new cases after eliminating the current one. If the washer won't drain water the drain pump might be defective. It's also common for a small sock or other article of clothing to get caught in the drain pump or in the drain hose. Check both for an obstruction before replacing the pump. To replace the drain pump you need to lay your washing machine on its back. Do it gently not to damage the surface. Then, remove both wire harnesses connected to the pump. Squeeze and pull the back hose clamp. Twist drain hose off of pump and remove the three mounting screws. Pull the pump out of place. After this step your Kenmore washer has to start draining. If not, the malfunctioning can be provoked by another faulty part. It is much easier to follow routine maintenance rules and regularly clean the washer than to eliminate the consequences of careless treatment. Check all pockets before placing your clothes in the drum. Shake the sand out, remove all small objects. It is better to split the wash load in two than to overload it. Clean the filter at least every 20 washes. If the electrical outlets in your home are prone to power surges, be sure to install a stabilizer. Now you know what to do if the washing machine won't drain. Contact our customer support to fix the problem with draining without problems. We fix - you relax!
