If you have problems with the ice maker in your refrigerator, we have some guidelines to help you fix them. Many of the most common problems can be resolved by checking the water and refrigerator control panel. The location of individual parts depends on the specific model of the refrigerator. Press and hold the Ice Off / Lock button for 3 seconds if the ice maker is off or locked. The button turns off the ice maker if you are going on vacation for a few days or leaving home. Pressing and holding it again turns on the power again and starts making ice cubes. Make sure the transducer is on top of the ice bin to move up and down. Ice production stops when the ice cubes in the bin lift the sensor wire. This function prevents the ice maker from overflowing. Make sure ice cubes or foreign objects do not restrict the movement of the sensor. Move the refrigerator away from the wall and make sure the water pipe is straight. Tight bends in the piping will prevent water from entering the icemaker and stop ice production. Make sure the water shut-off valve is open when you are behind the refrigerator - you may have turned off the water in the refrigerator during service. Replace the water filter - it may be blocked by debris from the water pipes. Newer refrigerators come with a color display informing you of the status of the water filter, while older models expect you to remember to change the filter every few months. The water filter is sometimes located inside the refrigerator compartment, although the exact location may vary. Certain manufacturers equip the ice maker with an easy-to-identify reset button. To access it, you must first remove the ice tray. Once you do that, you should see the bright red reset button on the bottom of the ice maker itself. To reset the ice maker, push this button in and hold it for 10 seconds. You can release it sooner if the ice maker starts making noise and operating or a chime sounds inside the refrigerator. Once the ice maker starts working, it will eject the contents of its reservoir, so replace the tray and close the refrigerator door to avoid spilling partially frozen water onto the floor. If your problem still exists, it is time to call a Pro. All necessary contacts you can find on our website.
