If your washer will not start, be sure the switch is being pressed. If the lid switch is being pressed but no power is being supplied to the washers motor, then the switch is most likely bad. To test the switch, turn off power to washer and remove the wires from the lid switch. Check the switch for continuity with a multimeter. If there is no continuity, replace the lid switch. Be careful, the washing machine may display an F51 error code. That means a rotor position sensor is defective and needs replacement. Inspect all other parts and investigate different scenarios to be certain about the origins of the problem. Don’t forget to check your appliances every half a year to get the right treatment in advance. Washer problems are never fun.
