Check your Whirlpool dishwasher no longer than you see water on the floor for the first time. If it is a minor issue, the plumber will easily eliminate it. However, even if it is a breakdown the specialist will need less efforts to cope with that. As you see, it takes little time but resolves serious future troubles. Dishwasher leakages can be attributed to various factors including faulty sections within the dishwasher such as; water valve inlet, the drain pump or a damaged door seal. Check the water valve inlet first. The water inlet valve opens to allow water to enter the dishwasher. If the water inlet valve is stuck open, the dishwasher will continue to fill with water until the dishwasher leaks or overflows. If the water inlet valve is at fault, replace it. Water inlet valves are not repairable—if the valve is defective, you must replace it. If the dishwasher is leaking water from the motor area, the entire pump and motor assembly need to be replaced. First, try to determine the source of the leak. If the water is leaking from the drain pump, the impeller and seal is likely the cause. On most dishwashers, you can replace the impeller and seal kit independently of the drain pump. However, if you do not want to disassemble the pump, or if the impeller and seal kit is not available separately, you can replace the entire pump and motor assembly. In addition, if the motor shaft is rusted and the new impeller won’t fit onto the shaft, replace the pump and motor assembly. The door seal might not be damaged visually. Still, it needs replacement when it gets overused with the time. Leave it to professionals! Feel free to contact our customer support and arrange an appointment.
