There was a complained that the refrigerator is not cooling sufficiently. There was a puddle under the refrigerator; there was water in the freezer at the bottom as well.
The thermostat of the freezer and refrigerator was set to maximum cooling. Temperature measurement showed 2 degrees Fahrenheit in the freezer and 50 degrees in the refrigerator that indicated insufficient cooling.
Since water leakage under and inside the refrigerator lines were checked for the leakage; the water pipes had no damage or cracks.
When the back cover of the refrigerator was opened, an overheated compressor was detected, the compressor fan was in working condition. A compressor condenser had a lot of dirt which hampered the cooling function of the compressor fan and provoked inefficient cooling and overheating.
The refrigerator was disconnected from the power supply in order to cool down the compressor. The condenser needed maintenance and cleaning which was conducted.
After the compressor had cooled down and the condenser had been maintenanced, the refrigerator was switched on and after some time a control measurement of temperature was carried out. The temperature inside decreased and corresponded to the thermostat: 0 in the freezer and 36 in the refrigerator. The refrigerator has been back to order.
