All issues concerning normal work of your refrigerator need a fast and efficient solution as freshness of the products is at risk. There are a couple of things you can conduct before calling a professional assistance. You can try moving the refrigerator away from the wall a little bit more to give it extra room for the air to circulate. The heat from the compressor should have sufficient room to dissipate. If the refrigerator is too close to the wall problems will occur. Another solution may be to clean the vents on the back or below the fridge as they can be clogged with dust and debris. Clogged vents cause air circulation problems that lead to many common refrigerator problems. If the ice build up is only happening in the freezer, the freezer drain is probably clogged. To unclog the drain you should first unplug the unit from the wall. Remove the freezer covers to expose the frozen drain. Pour hot water down into the drain hole until you see the water dripping into the drain pan under the refrigerator. Loose hinges on your fridge or freezer doors will result in an incomplete seal; this will increase the humidity inside your appliance which may result in ice buildup. If you notice that the door or the screws on the hinges are wobbly, use a screwdriver to tighten the screws by turning them clockwise. Keep tightening them until they don’t spin around anymore. Most modern refrigerators don’t need to be defrosted, so you shouldn’t have much trouble keeping your appliance free of ice and frost if it’s in working order. Just remember to keep the door closed as much as possible. You may also want to check the doors and inner seals to ensure that they’re forming a tight seal and not allowing any warm air to sneak in. Additionally, arrange a scheduled meeting at least every six months to make sure nothing threatens the life of your appliance.
