It doesn’t really matter whether you use Dacor cooktop or any other appliance brand, the gas hob can stop functioning properly at any time. The flame has a weird color or the ignition does not want to work as expected, the gas control solenoid valve closes - there are many options for problems. If your range won’t stop clicking and you’ve tried cleaning the burners, allowing them to air dry and repositioning the burner caps, then you may have a defective part. A spark module is responsible for providing the spark used to turn on the burner. If broken, the knobs won’t work. If the burner on the gas stove doesn't burn well or fails to light up, then it is necessary to disconnect the unit from gas and electricity supply. To replace the spark module follow steps below:
1. Remove grates, caps and burner rings
2. Using burner tool (86007C) remove brass nut (hold down ring) by turning
counter clockwise
3. Lift burner base out and disconnect electrode wire
4. Remove right and left vent cap
5. Lift off top frame
6. Remove insulation (there are screws on either side holding it down) and then remove cover plate underneath the insulation.
If you doubt any of the steps above, stop DIY and contact a technician. Mind the safety of your Dacor cooktop and don’t risk your life.
