If you have at home water heater - you’re lucky. But with time (like every appliance) it can give you problems like getting too hot. It is a very common problem for water heaters Bosch e1f50rd045v. Solution is to change the thermostat. With our step-by-step guide you can replace it by yourself. It’s very simple, follow our instructions and prepare some tools: work gloves, Phillips screwdriver, slot screwdriver, needle nose pliers, thermostat.
- Shutting off electricity. Wear working gloves. Use a circuit breaker to shut off electricity for water heaters.
- Removing the heating element’s access cover. Remove the heating element’s access cover mounting screw and pull off the cover. Fold the insulation back to expose the thermostat.
- Removing the plastic shield. Lift up the tab located at the top of the plastic shield to release the shield from the thermostat. Remove the shield.
- Removing the thermostat. Loosen the screws securing the wires to the thermostat. Pull the wires out. To release the thermostat, pull the tabs outward at the top of the thermostat bracket. Slide the thermostat up and remove it from behind the thermostat bracket.
- Installing a new thermostat. Place the new thermostat in the bracket making sure it fits firmly behind the tabs and against the tank. Reattach the wires to the new thermostat and tighten firmly.
- Reinstalling plastic shield. Reinstall the plastic shield over the thermostat and heating element. Fold the insulation back over the thermostat and heating element.
- Reinstalling the access cover. Reinstall the heating element cover and screw.
- Connecting your water to the electricity. Connect the water heater to the power outlet and use a circuit breaker.
