SOLVED: Viking Cooktop Burner not working

There are several things that could go wrong with your Viking cooktop. Now, one of the burners is not working. If the burner clicks but there is no gas smell, the problem is likely with the gas flow. If you smell gas but don’t hear any clicking, the issue could lie with the ignition switch. Turn the appliance off and unplug it if you can, then remove the grate and burner cap. Clean out any loose food debris and reconnect any wires that may have come loose. If that doesn’t solve it, you will likely need a new igniter or some work on your gas connection. Oftentimes, the igniter is defective. The ignitor is attached to a metal brace running along the oven top. Remove the screw from the bottom of the ignitor to release it from the brace. Pull on the wire at the bottom to remove it from the connector, or release the entire wire from the switch at the front of the stove. Check the switch, as well. When the burner is turned on, the spark ignition switch sends voltage to the spark module to produce a spark. If the spark ignition switch is defective, it won't send voltage to the spark module, and the burner won't be able to produce a spark. If your range's burner isn't sparking, check to see if the other burners are sparking properly. If the other burners are sparking properly, the spark ignition switch is likely defective.
