Your refrigerator began to make noisy sounds. In this case, you should take your time and stick to your refrigerator in order to deal with the problem and fix it, and we will help you.
We will discuss about 6 steps, that can help to fix problem with loud noise in your Sub Zero BI42UFD/S/PH.
- Find the source of loud noise (back, bottom or inside the refrigerator). If your noisy sound from the bottom, the drain pan is likely loose. If from the back of the unit could indicate an issue with the timer of defrosting, condenser fan, or even compressor. If the sound is coming from the inside of your appliance, is probably the evaporator fan, which circulates air through the freezer and fridge.
- Try to secure a Drain Pan. If sounds came from the bottom, you can easily fix that, just secure the drain pan with instruments which you have.
- Fault Defrost timer. Check for frost buildup in the refrigerator and freezer compartments, which is a sign of a failing timer (in case that thermostat is set correctly). Next, listen attentively. Is the refrigerator making loud noise only once or twice per day, for about an hour. This is another sign that the defrost timer should be replaced
- Inspect the Condenser Fan. It’s located behind an access panel on the back of the Sub Zero fridge. Unplug your fridge and inspect the condenser fan including the rubber grommets. Use a soft brush to clean dirt and debris that could be obstructing the condenser motor fan.
- Evaporator Fan. To check if the evaporator fan is causing the loud refrigerator racket, simply push in the light switch in the Sub Zeo freezer. If this fan is a problem, the noise will get louder without light. Inspect the fan to see the extent of the damage. With the fridge unplugged, spin the fan blade with your hand to see if it’s operating smoothly. Check wires, grommets, and other components. If the fan blade doesn't move freely or there are other signs of damage or corrosion, it may be necessary to replace the fan.
- Refrigerator Compressor Noise. Most common problem is compressor. But in this case you must be secure that is real compressor noise. Unplug the motor of the condenser fan and control if loud sounds continues. If it does, the compressor may be the problem that give a loud noise.
